Q&A

Taking questions today in between renders here in the editing bay.  Ask me anything and I shall do my best to answer as honestly as I can.

What do you want to know?

If I ever started a curated Tumblr page, it’d be nothing but Cat Gifs and Butts.

Motionless In White release “Reincarnate” music video - Alternative Press -

"One a scale of one to terrifying, we rate this @MIWband video a terrifying out of terrifying" — Rock Sound

"The new @MIWband video is pretty badass!" — Kerrang! Magazine

Looks like people are really loving my music video for Motionless In White's “Reincarnate” today (currently sitting at 21,000+ views on YouTube). Very proud of everyone's work on this one. It's the biggest and best thing I've directed to date.

Working with Chris Motionless and the band was an absolute blast as always. Good guys all around.

Much love to my producers Roger M. Mayer and Veronica Radaelli for pulling off a few minor miracles to make this thing happen. To Ernesto Lomeli for the beautiful cinematography. To Harper Leigh, for laughing, even when it felt silly. And to Mary Taylor, for being the amazing woman that she is. Thank you, thank you!

On to the next…

Anonymous said: Violence against women is a popular theme in your work. I'm curious as to why.

For me, my work is about the vulnerability of being human.

Our insecurities. Our mortality. Our dreams and nightmares. Our love and hate.

As an artist, you need some type of framework in which to hang your story, and this is what I’ve chosen as mine.

Woman have historically been treated as the lesser, weaker sex,—which is obviously a bunch of bullshit—but it’s a visual shorthand and thus an appropriate approach for me to work in.

Life is a dichotomy of light and dark. To ignore one side in favor of the other is fraudulent and disingenuous at best.

Also:  That you felt it necessary to ask anonymously gives me pause.  I’ve always been honest about the way in which I see the world.  Not sure why you would would feel the need to hide behind an Anon tag to ask an equally honest question of me.  We’re all adults here, right?
